What Athletes Say About Training With OPAL

Real stories from athletes and active adults who stopped repeating the same injuries.

So many great things to say about Opal Movement Therapy. Dr. Morgan is the best of the best! Being a pediatric OT and an athlete, I really started to feel the wear and tear on my body. Dr. Morgan's knowledge, curiosity, compassion, and skill found the root cause to my back pain and she did what she does best - got her patient back to doing what they love. I'm back back to going hard in the gym, back to running consecutive miles, and I'm able to enjoy my career pain free. Opal Movement Therapy is the place to get you where you need and want to be!

I pay out of pocket for remote sessions. This is because the system I’m in has dropped me and I am trying to further recover from surgery for a lower back disc herniation and nerve issues. These guys customize my exercises. For me. They answer all my questions. And give a whole hour, which is unheard of. Previously, I got 25-40 minute sessions for the same price. But with OPAL, I get progressions of the exercises and they deal with older people that thought “put your back into it” was a good thing. It is not. I am now working on upper body stuff that really needs to happen to help make the lower body stuff happier, something my insurance and previous PT wouldn’t touch. Well worth the money. I submit for HSA reimbursement and haven’t had a problem with that. Oh, and I don’t pay sales taxes in my state and with remote sessions, I don’t seem to pay them for Texas (assuming they have sales tax).

It’s been great working with the team at Opal! I started with Dr. Morgan and now I’m working with Dr. Magda. Everyone on the team is knowledgeable and truly cares about how you can move your body in the most efficient way for you. It’s all about helping you connect your mind to your body as you’re going through the movement! I now know how to properly activate my glutes! 😂

Frequently Asked Questions

Learn how OPAL's sports PT approach works and what makes it different.

Do you take insurance?

We're cash-based and out-of-network. We provide itemized receipts you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. We also accept HSA/FSA and offer payment plans to make care more accessible.

What kinds of athletes do you work with?

We work with runners, lifters, CrossFit athletes, recreational sports players, and anyone who trains regularly. Whether you're preparing for competition or trying to stay active and injury-free, we can build a plan around your specific goals and training style. Runners with recurring issues may also benefit from our running physical therapy program.

How is sports PT different from regular PT?

Sports PT at OPAL is built around your training goals, not just pain relief. We assess your movement in the context of your sport, integrate sport-specific progressions, and use return-to-sport testing to confirm you are ready to go back to full activity safely.

Do I need a doctor's referral to start?

No referral is needed. Texas allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can book a phone consult directly. We'll determine if our approach is the right fit and outline a clear plan before your first session.

Can you work with me if I'm not currently injured?

Yes. Many athletes come to us for movement assessments, training support, and injury prevention. If you want to build a stronger, more durable body before a problem develops, proactive sports PT is a great fit.
